About Me

Hi, my name is Cassie. I received a Masters degree in Counseling at the University of Houston. My work with children began in the education field, initially earning a Bachelor's degree in music education. I served as an educator for several years before making the transition into counseling as a child therapist.

Counseling is a great opportunity to explore any life questions or issues that are challenging to navigate alone. Through a child-centered approach, I help your child build coping skills and tools through play therapy.

Play is intuitively a child’s first language, and naturally allows a child to express and experience their emotions. Child-centered play therapy focuses on centering and understanding the child’s needs, while I facilitate by communicating to the parent how to best meet those needs. Together, we will build on your child’s personal strengths and increase your self-awareness to create a sustainable solution.

I wholeheartedly welcome and embrace diversity. I am passionate about healing work with individuals and families of the BIPOC and queer community. Creating a safe space for sex-positive counseling is important when working with adolescents, adults, and families throughout the therapeutic process.

I aspire to be fluent in Spanish, enjoy practicing yoga, and love traveling to new places to experience nature and the food. I am not a cat person, yet somehow came to love three cats of my own named Little Cat, Jiji, and Michi.
