Dr. Courtney Nixon specializes in child, adolescent, and reproductive psychiatry and is passionate about helping children, teens, and women through life’s stages and changes. She strives to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment for a variety of mental health conditions, including Autism Spectrum Disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Mood Disorders, Premenstrual and Perinatal
Conditions, and Perimenopause.

Dr. Nixon is Board-Certified in Child, Adolescent, and General Psychiatry, and has completed additional training in Reproductive Psychiatry, Nutritional and Integrative Psychiatry, and Personalized Medicine. She examines biological factors, such as genetics, medical conditions, or medications or substances that may be causing or contributing to a person’s mental health
or illness; psychological factors, such as early attachment and bonding with caregivers, thought patterns for conceptualizing the world around us, defense mechanisms, and personality styles; social spheres; that is, their current living situation, family, friends, education or work, as well as past experiences, such as traumas or losses; and the role of spirituality with her patients. She believes wellness consists of health in all of these areas and supports patients in their core values, goals, and beliefs.

In addition to medication management and psychotherapy, she provides education about dietary changes, exercise, sleep, stress reduction, and complementary medicine practices. She happily collaborates with other health providers to address the important health connections between body and mind.

Dr. Nixon has had extensive experience both in private practice and as a lead psychiatrist at Ohana. She loves being a part of the local community, and enjoys hiking, yoga, and frequenting local restaurants.

Dr. Nixon is currently available for telehealth consultations at this time.
